My visit to Key West Florida before we boarded our Caribbean Cruise!
(If you just popped in on the story, check out THIS BLOG to learn about the
Art and Alligators in Miami)
After a few days in Miami, hubby and I set off for a little overnight escape on
the beautiful island of Key West —
The drive across the Keys is so much fun and interesting.
(1700 islands with 40 miles of bridges!)
Everything is so beautiful, warm, sunny and lush!
I also learned how to properly pronounce ‘Conch.’
(Been saying that wrong my whole life…and in case you didn’t know HERE is how.)
And I used my new pronunciation skills to order Conch Chowder which was DELICIOUS.
And OF COURSE had me some Key Lime Pie!
Then we met Matt and headed for the ship!
Where we ate a few things….
Toured a few places….
Learned a little bit of history…..
Did a little bit of shopping…..
And I’ll show you the only souvenir I bought — another nativity scene to add to my collection.
(I always try to buy one when we are in a new country)- this is hand carved from Tagua Nuts.
The best thing I came home with was a heart full of wonderful memories!
“The best things in life are the people we love,
the places we’ve been and
the memories we’ve made along the way.”
