Mission Inn – a historic Christmas adventure

My adventure to the Mission Inn started two years ago…
Well, sorta….two years ago I read in USA Today that the Mission Inn’s light display
was voted as one of the top 25 light displays in the US!
So I put a visit on my Christmas bucket list.
Fast forward to this year and we were looking for a little wedding anniversary get away…
and it popped back in my head.
We packed our things and ventured up to Riverside to see this historic hotel and it’s light display.
It really is stunning and definitely helps put you in the Christmas spirit!

The inside of the hotel is decorated too – with tons of lights and garland,
a huge Christmas tree and lots of gingerbread villages like this one.

There are lots of other fun things going on outside too: food booths (kettle corn, hot chocolate and roasted sugared almonds to name a few…) plus lots of fun people, artists at work, street musicians etc.
This warmed my heart because I remember when Matt practiced his trumpet our dog would sing too!

And who can resist a ride on Cinderella’s coach????
