This week I took a bite out of the Big Apple!
I’ve been to New York City a few times, so it was fun to go again and enjoy a little more in depth
exploration. Had fun on some walking tours, a sunset cruise and
several museums that have been on my bucket list.
Of course the most emotional museum in New York is the 9-11 Memorial,
This Fire Truck is there as a tribute to members of FDNY Ladder Company 3 who were assigned to aid in the evacuation of civilians in the North Tower on 9/11. All 11 responding members were killed when the tower collapsed at 10:28am.
The front cab of this fire truck was shorn off when the North Tower collapsed.
I also visited Poughkeepsie, New York where Matt is working this summer as
the Production Manager for the New York Stage and Film Festival.
Spent some time with Matt, watched one of his productions
(which is headed to Broadway in two weeks!) and walked across the Hudson river on is longest footbridge in the world ! (It first was built as a double track railroad bridge in 1889.)
