Saying I Do: The Wedding of S & P San Diego and Pala Mission Wedding Photographer

Hopefully you tuned in yesterday so you know we are at the historic Mission San Pala and we’re getting ready for the ceremony.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her brother – and it was a beautiful and emotional time for both~!

And her loving groom was waiting at the end of the aisle….
The ceremony was wonderful – family and friends helped to celebrate the couple and share the special ceremony with them…..

One of the unique things about the wedding is the couple shared the ritual of
presenting the arras” an old Spanish tradition.
The arras are thirteen coins presented by the groom to symbolize that he will be there to protect and provide for her, and also symbolizes that he shares all his worldly processions with her – his wealth is her wealth.
The thirteen coins are sometimes said to stand for love, trust, commitment, respect, joy, happiness, harmony, wisdom, wholeness, nurturing, caring, cooperation, and peace – traits the couple would want their marriage to be filled with.
Then special family members arranged the wedding lasso around the kneeling couple.

The traditional wedding lasso represents a loop of rosary beads. During the wedding it is formed into a figure-of-eight shape, and then placed around the neck areas of the bride and the groom.

This cord symbolizes the everlasting union of the bride and groom when they officially become husband and wife, as well as a symbol of marital protection; while the loops formed signifies their love for one another

And the KISS~

I love to give my couples an assortment of portraits to choose from from their wedding – close up and wide angle – sometimes you want to see all your friends and family cheering for you!

I love the time right after the couple leaves the ceremony – they are relaxed, happy and are ready to greet friends and family.  My job is to just stand back and capture the moment for them!

As a wedding photographer, my greatest honor is being asked to capture a couple’s love story!

A kiss isn’t a kiss unless it’s the one you really love. A hug isn’t a hug until it’s the one you’re thinking of. A dream isn’t a dream until you make it come true. And love is just a word until it’s proven to you.
