TIP Prayer

Our church has a special “Stepping Stones” program to assist parents in raising a child of faith.
The classes/workshops are designed to help clue in parents to what they might focus on at that stage in their child’s life.
Here are our stepping stone classes:
Birth -Baptism, in First Grade- Prayer, in Third Grade- Bible, in Fifth- Grade Communion,
7th and 8th grades- Confirmation and 12th grade – Graduation.

Our First Grade Stepping Stone is called, “Let’s Pray” and it introduces and explores the gift of prayer; why we pray and how we pray.

We first meet with just parents, and then meet a second time for a fun afternoon for parents
and their first grader.

The Pastor teaches about TIP prayer.
Ever heard of that?

These are things you should consider putting in your prayer:

T Thank you for the things you have
II‘m sorry for something you did (or didn’t do)
PPlease – ask for something

The kids made Prayer Journals

And then it was GAME TIME!

Parents and their child moved around the game room, having fun and learning together!

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

“If any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you.” (James 1: 5)

“Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things.” (Jeremiah 33: 3)
