So, did you guess we were at DINO-MOUNTAIN in San Diego’s Wild Animal Park?
This is a travelling exhibit, so Lisa and I risked the 110 degree heat to go take some dino-photos before the exhibit was packed up and moved to another city (maybe YOUR city?)
These dinosaurs are HUGE, beautifully sculpted and painted, have amazing sound effects and are all automated to move around — quite authentic! (One particularly evil looking dino even spits!)
There are little activities for the kids to do as they wander around Dino-Mountain. Each station has a stamp for kids to make a keepsake passport booklet:
It was interesting to meet lots of dinosaurs we weren’t familiar with…..and that’s saying a lot cuz we are both moms of boys, so we’ve BEEN THERE DONE THAT with dinosaurs! (Every little boy I know has a dinosaur stage of life!)
These little babies were adorable wiggling around in their nice, cozy little nest!
Of course there’s an ever-so-handy gift shop right there at the exit of Dino-Mountain.
I spotted this t shirt, and if they sold it in teenager sizes, I would have bought it for Matt! (And if you happen to own a teenage boy, you KNOW what I mean!)
HERE’S an amazing little video that shows all the dinosaurs moving around and gives a little background on the exhibit. (Go ahead…..watch it…it’s only 1 minute long! Come on, you can spare one minute…)
“A magical display for children and adults of all ages, the dinosaurs will leave you mesmerized by their authenticity. From their texture to the noises they make, the dinosaurs will take you back in time and leave you longing for more. Dino Mountain is the most up close and personal guests can get to experiencing the creatures that roamed the earth long ago.”
