I’m so lucky to live close to the world famous San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. We have a membership giving us unlimited visits to both!

And as luck would have it, Lisa has a membership too! So occasionally, while the kiddies are all at school, we will zip over for a photo safari.

One of the most beautiful stops of our last visit was the Butterfly Oasis.

Okay…before we get to the butterflies, let’s just check…. do you remember your 1st grade science lessons?

First, you have a caterpillar who eats and eats, and then makes a cocoon:

Then a bit of time passes before a beautiful butterfly emerges from the cocoon. (Ahem, I may have simplified that whole process a bit so don’t use this to study for your next science test….)
