American Idol Concert
I’m interrupting your trip to Hawaii.
Did you know I was already home in San Diego?
Yep…you guys got to spend more time in Hawaii than I did!
I’m interrupting because I have BIG NEWS!
I’m sure you’ve heard of the American Idol television show…..
You probably know that the contest is down to just three people…..
Well, one of them, Adam Lambert, graduated from Matt’s High School (class of 2000)
Adam came back to our high school on Friday for a parade and concert-
He brought the American Idol producers and film crew with him….
Adam Lambert: The next American Idol?
OF COURSE our world-famous marching band lead the parade and helped support him at his concert.
The mayor of San Diego was on hand to proclaim May 8 as “Adam Lambert” day!
Adam arrived in a huge limo with police escorts and 2 cars filled with cameramen.
When he arrived, his limosine parked right next to our band kids – Adam greeted everyone; he was very kind, gracious and friendly!
All the students from our high school were released from class to come to the concert. We also invited the community – the stadium was FILLED with screaming people, banners and EXCITEMENT!
Of course all the news stations were there to report on the big event.
So – make sure you turn on the TV this Tuesday night –
You’ll get to hear Adam sing, and you will see the film footage of our high school and that fabulous marching band! (Matt will be playing his trumpet, and maybe you’ll even see me carrying around a camera and water bottles for the band… 😉
I found this video of the event on YouTube in case you want to experience the excitement:
Please don’t forget to watch on Tuesday night and VOTE for Adam Lambert to be the next American Idol!
