Honolulu’s Chinatown has been described as one of Hawaii’s most exciting and mysterious neighborhoods.
They are trying to retain the character of the mom-and-pop shops, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and funky galleries that make this colorful 140-year-old neighborhood worth a visit.
We enjoyed a nice stroll through the neighborhood and had lots of fun trying to figure things out…..
Doesn’t this fruit look interesting?
Personally, I could skip trying these:
A few things we recognized, but most looked really unusual:
This herb center looked downright scary….
I just have to admit that we had intended to have lunch in chinatown,
but every place we saw looked scary…..so in the end, we chickened out
and went to P.F. Changs instead………
Long live “commercial” Chinese food!
